So our parade was yesterday. It wasn't that cold out, so I was happy about that. We were missing so many of the drumline though. Lisa, Alex, Jay, and Jenn didn't come, Eddy was sick, Dan had toe surgury, and Nick had a wedding, lol. We marched one snare, four bases, two cymbols, and me on the finger cymbols. It was pretty good, and we pulled it off with only a few minor problems, like Eric's harness falling apart while he was marching, lol, but the band parents fixed it. Mmm...then we got yummy snacks when we got back to the school, lol.

Just a note...other people can post...in fact...please post! Everyone keeps commenting, but if you have something to post, post it! lol..anyways, I gotta go.

Hey. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Funny isn't it, that the week right after Thanksgiving is already Sayreville's Holiday Parade. Anyone else's bands marching in their hometown's parades? If so, what are you guys playing? Sayreville's playing Angel Medley and probably the drummers will play cadance, which has parts for the Pit, too. We've got two marching cymbols, the finger cymbols, a cowbell, and I think a tambourine, a cabassa, and something else. Steve, correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway. I'm also trying to rig up a harness for our glockenspiel. I found it in in one of the lockers in the band room, and I totally want to march it for the parade, except that we haven't got a harness for it. Anyone got any idea on how I could make one? Lol, me and one of the baritones were thinking of using rope, but somehow, I think that's going to backfire.

Also, a welcome to our new members: jewelsofchaos, pitgirlliz, and drumerstevey, who's from my band in Sayreville. Now if I could only get the other five Pit members to join my community...oh the possibilities...lol.

I hope everyone has a happy, safe Thanksgiving!

Hey! I know I haven't updated since I started the community, but that's because no one was joining and it would've been pointless to update for no one to read.

Anyway, three new members: yoshiartist, limegreenwierdo, and faithindreams63, welcome! I'm sooo happy that people acutally found this community, and wanted to join it.

In other news, my marching season is over. We had our championships at Allentown, PA, and came in 5th out of 8, with a score of 85.5. How'd everyone else do? Is anyone else in the USSBA circuit?

I'm working on getting my PiT to join this community, as soon as they all get livejournals.

I think that's all for now. Enjoy!

Theresa

Welcome! As of right now, I'm the only member of this community, but hopefully that'll change shortly. I'm crossing my fingers. Let's see..I made this community basically because I went searching on the site and found tons of communites for bands and drumlines, but not for the Pit. So, I made one myself, and somehow you found your way here. Now..if you don't know what the Pit is, then you probably made your way here by mistake, and you can leave by pressing the "back" button on your brower. Ta-ta.

Ok, now for anyone who's really here because their in the Pit..hello! I can't wait to talk to you, and find out what you guys are like. I really hope you enjoy your times here, and meet new friends, and expand your musicalness.

A little about myself: I'm in the SWMHS Marching Unit. It's my second year, and I'm a freshman. I'm in the Pit (obviously), and I'm on the marimba for the whole show this year. This year's show is "The Wonder of Funk", with "For Once in My Life", "RockIt", "The Chicken", and "Sir Duke".

I think that's basically it for now. I'm really hoping to have some members in here soon. It'll get quite lonely all by myself here, lol. Talk to you later! (hopefully)

Love and Hugs,
Theresa
